Mr Joshua Asiwome Fugar

Research Assistant

Joshua Asiwome Fugar is a Research Assistant at the Cybersecurity Capacity Centre for Southern Africa (C3SA), Department of Information Systems, University of Cape Town.  With over ten years of experience in IT, project management, and information systems, Joshua has worked across academia, private industry, and international development cooperation. He has held leadership roles including Project Lead for cybersecurity at the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and Technical Advisor for ICT with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) Ghana. Joshua also served as Director of ICT at the Nduom School of Business and Technology, where he led IT strategy and technological innovation to support teaching and research. He holds an MBA in Management Information Systems, a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Technology, and several professional certifications including ITIL and Microsoft Certified Professional. His research focuses on cybersecurity in critical information infrastructure, digital transformation, and IT project management. Outside of work, Joshua enjoys soccer, reading, and swimming.
